Inspired to Make a Difference With Open Hand Atlanta

What started out as an overcast day, gave way to an inspiring afternoon. Our team recently had the opportunity to help Open Hand Atlanta pack meals for the underprivileged and elderly.  The packing involved portioning food into individual containers, sealing them on an assembly line and labeling the containers with its contents, all while glamorously wearing hairnets and aprons. The laid-back atmosphere in the kitchen, allowed for quick work, friendly conversation and overall fun on the job.

Our afternoon at Open Hand Atlanta resulted in 1,076 meals packed for the day. After a few hours of doing good and snapping photos, the AJM team left with more than we bargained for. We now have a great admiration, and deep appreciation, for how a little help goes a long way. What a great feeling to know our impact will ensure someone has a good meal.

Open Hand Atlanta’s legacy of service began over 27 years ago, with the vision to eliminate disability and untimely death due to nutrition-sensitive chronic disease. Additionally, its purpose is to serve the community by empowering people to live healthier, more productive lives. Open Hand Atlanta credits their greatest strength to the constant support of thousands of volunteers.
